What is ship chandler software?
Ship chandler software (also called ship chandling software) runs a ship supplier's business in one system: vessel inquiries, supplier pricing, quotations, purchase orders, receiving, packing, dispatch and invoicing. Chandler, built by IF Solutions, replaces the spreadsheets, email and phone calls most chandlers still quote with.
Can Chandler read inquiries from email, PDF or a photo?
Yes. Drop in an inquiry as an email, a PDF, an Excel sheet or a photo of a requisition. The AI reads it and builds the work file item by item in minutes, matched to your catalogue and past orders. Lines it isn't sure about are flagged for a person to check.
How fast can we send a quotation?
Suppliers price your items through a simple link instead of a spreadsheet, and margins are applied automatically. Our goal with every customer is a priced, approved quotation in under two hours instead of one to two days.
How much does Chandler cost?
Chandler costs $679 a month for up to 10 users, plus $46 a month for each extra user, with a one-time setup fee of $865. Paying yearly costs $6,790, a saving of $1,358.
Does Chandler work with IMPA codes?
Yes. Your item catalogue stores the IMPA category, unit and carton size for each item, along with local and alternative names, so the AI can match more inquiry lines to the right item automatically.
Do we have to import our item catalogue first?
No. You add items by name as inquiries come in and the AI fills in the details, so your catalogue builds itself as you work. Bulk import from Excel is available if you want it.
How long does it take to go live?
Quoting (inquiry, supplier pricing and quotation) can be live within a week. Order processing and finance follow in a second phase, about a month later.
Does Chandler include accounting for ship suppliers?
Yes. Built-in finance takes invoices and bills straight from the orders, with multi-currency, VAT and tax reports, so nothing is entered twice. It is set up for your invoice format and your country's tax rules.
Can chandlers outside Sri Lanka use Chandler?
Yes. Chandler is a cloud platform for ship chandlers and ship suppliers in any port. Quotes handle multiple currencies and exchange rates, invoices and taxes are set up for your country, and onboarding and support are done remotely.
Who uses Chandler today?
Chandler runs the daily operations of DeepOcean, a ship chandler in Sri Lanka. It grew out of the ERP IF Solutions built for DeepOcean (read the case study) and is now available to ship chandlers and ship suppliers worldwide.
Where is the data hosted?
Chandler is hosted on AWS. Permissions are set feature by feature for each role, so purchasers, store keepers, boarding officers and accountants only see what their job needs.
